ConnectMenlo (Menlo Park General Plan Update)

Posted on: September 25, 2014

[ARCHIVED] September 26, 2014 - ConnectMenlo Project Update

If you missed Tuesday evening’s presentation by Bay Area Economics (BAE) on growth management and economic development, the video recording of the presentation and Q+A session is now available online. Topics included in the discussion were why economic development is important, what is Menlo Park’s economy today, and what are the real estate market trends.

Upcoming ConnectMenlo Events
Public participation is a key part of the success of this effort. We would love to see you participate in one or more of the following events:

FOCUS GROUP #1: LAND USE ALTERNATIVES
September 29, 2014
7:00-9:00 pm
Arrillaga Family Recreation Center, Juniper Room

Mixed use? More office use? Increased recreational opportunities? Greater access to retail and services? Your ideas are needed to help identify land use concepts for the future of the M-2 area. These ideas will then be developed into land use alternatives that will be presented at a future community workshop.

MOBILE WORKSHOP #1: MENLO PARK
October 1, 2014
12:30-3:30 pm
Meet at 701 Laurel Street near the south parking lot (bus will depart on time)

Tour Menlo Park like you have never seen it before. We will be taking a double decker bus around town to view and discuss various land use and circulation concepts and issues.

ConnectMenlo Survey
What are your long-term priorities for the City?
You're invited to answer that question at www.menlopark.org/ConnectMenloSurvey.

As part of ConnectMenlo, the City's General Plan Update, the City is asking for your input. This question is featured on the City's Open City Hall online forum, where you can express your opinions for decision-makers to read and also see what other residents are saying. This information will help create Guiding Principles, or vision statements, for the General Plan Update and will be the foundation for associated goals, policies and programs.

We look forward to hearing your ideas about the future of Menlo Park, and how we can work to make it a better place for all.

The online survey will be available until October 26, 2014. Thank you for participating!
