The City of Menlo Park will be hosting its semiannual Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, August 9th, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. The event is free and open to residents only. Household hazardous waste will be collected for reuse, recycling, or to be properly neutralized and disposed of. Acceptable items include acids/bases, aerosol cans, automotive supplies (car batteries, motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid), cleaning products, fertilizers, pesticides, flammable liquids, florescent lights (compact and tubes), paint, inks, and photo chemicals. Radioactive, explosive, medical, or commercial waste will NOT be accepted.
NOTE: Appointments are required and can be scheduled online or by calling 650-363-4718.
Unable to attend?
Household hazardous waste products may also be disposed of through the free “At Your Door Special Collection” program. To utilize this service, residents must call 800-449-7587 or email for a collection kit and instructions.
