Menlo Park Municipal Water and Public works staff responded to reports of a water main break at approximately 4 a.m., Saturday, March 10. The water leak was reported near the intersection of Bay Road and Van Buren Road. On-call staff responded quickly and located the water main break within the Willow Road/U.S. 101 interchange project construction site. The break resulted in low water pressure for many customers until crews restored it at about 7 a.m. However, residents on Heritage Place lost water service for nearly 12 hours and were provided bottled water in the meantime. Full service was restored around 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening. On Sunday, crews returned to remove debris and clean the road. The water leak's cause appears related to the construction work on the Willow Road/U.S. 101 Interchange project. Menlo Park Municipal Water thanks its customers for their cooperation and patience.
