On Feb. 26, 2018, the Planning Commission reviewed and unanimously approved the proposed mixed-use residential and office development located at 1540 El Camino Real. The proposal will comprehensively redevelop the existing site and commercial building, formally Beltramo’s Wines and Spirits which closed in 2016 after the property owners decided to cease operations and sell the property. The project includes a 27 unit multi-family residential building, 40,759-square-foot office building, and a below grade parking garage. Five of the residential units will be provided as affordable units at low-income rental rates. The development will feature new landscaping throughout the site and amenities for the residential and office tenants including a rooftop deck for the office building and a courtyard, tot lot, and fitness room for the residential building. New street trees on El Camino Real and San Antonio Street and two existing heritage oak trees on San Antonio Street will also enhance the project’s street frontages. The applicant is anticipated to submit for building permit review later this year.
