On Sept. 22, 2017, two developments within The City of Menlo Park won two out of the 15 awards from The 2017 Silicon Valley Structures event. This competition celebrates “The Best in Local Real Estate.” The criteria for judging real estate is based on how much a project impacts the community and how great a company is able to utilize the property area.
MidPen Housing, a corporation with experience of over 47 years, is credited for the first award for “Best Affordable Residential Project.” The development, “
Sequoia Belle Haven” is located at 1221 Willow Road. This project is an upscale, beautiful, below market rate housing development for seniors. MidPen purchased the 1960s building in 1980s. With the revitalization of the property, MidPen created 90 senior only BMR units with new upscale amenities: a computer lab, an exercise room and a community room for large gatherings.
Greystar, a project development company of over two decades, won the second award within Menlo Park for “Best Market-Rate Residential Project.” The development is named “
Elan Menlo Park” and is located at 3645 Haven Avenue. This project consists of 146, modernized, high-end apartment units. Residents of these apartments have access to on-site Club-Quality Fitness Center, Resort-Inspired Saltwater Pool and Spa, and Entertainment Courtyard, consisting of built-in, outdoor Fire Pit and barbecue Grills.
