Much effort went into preparing for the winter storm that brought over 4.5 inches of rain to the Bay Area this week. Back in September, Public works reported on the
annual creek inspection which identified items such as downed trees and other debris that could constrict channel flows. Those items were quickly resolved at the time which helped keep the water flowing this week, when it mattered most. The
San Francisquito Creek peaked at approximately 12.4 feet this time, which is still well below the 24 feet level at which water will begin to spill from the creek. While some temporary surface street flooding did occur, both Public Works and the Police department were out in force to address these spots quickly. This coming week, crews will continue to inspect storm drains and remove debris where needed. To report street maintenance issues please contact the
Public Works Department at 650-330-6780.
