This summer has been very eventful for the graduates of the
Belle Haven Child Development Center (CDC). This year the graduates have the opportunity to join the Belle Haven prekindergarten summer program. The children have been exposed to a variety of special events, such as being amazed by the skills of juggling, getting their hands dirty in pottery class and visited by the Wild Life Associates and their Creepy Critters. The children are also enjoying weekly lessons in karate and swimming.
Menlo Swim and Sport have collaborated with Belle Haven CDC to provide the children with once a week swim lessons throughout the summer. The children work with knowledgeable and patient instructors where they help introduce to them the world of swimming. The children have been learning to float, kick and go under the water. Most importantly, they are learning not to fear the water but to respect it. It has been fun and educational experience for all.
The program will be ending Aug. 11 but families will have the opportunity to
sign up for the Belle Haven afterschool program at Onetta Harris starting in the fall.
