Installation of new bicycling facilities along Oak Grove Avenue, University Drive and Crane Street are starting next week. Crews have started grinding off existing striping. Starting Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, crews will begin working at night to place the
new striping. There may be periodic parking removals or lane closures to perform this work. The striping work is anticipated to be complete within two weeks and the facilities will be open for use in time for the beginning of the school year.
The Oak Grove University Crane Bicycle Improvement Project is a one-year trial installation of a bicycle facility on the proposed streets. The route connects key destinations in the City including schools, the downtown and nearby residential neighborhoods. The proposed project includes buffered bike lanes on each side of the street on Oak Grove Avenue and University Drive, with a connecting bicycle route marked with sharrows on Crane Street, Santa Cruz Avenue and Live Oak Avenue. See the City’s project
webpage for details on parking changes, the route and improvements and more info about the project.
