A new authentic Japanese cuisine restaurant is being added to downtown. Kyosho Japanese Restaurant will be located at 607 Santa Cruz Ave. Taking over the lease after Tokyo Subway closed in December. The owner Thomas Wu has been the owner and sushi chef of the food truck, We Sushi, for the last 6 year. Before that he worked as the sushi chef at Ozumo in San Francisco and other family owned restaurants.

While Mr. Wu has enjoyed working on the road manning the first sushi food truck in the bay area, He has decided to return to his roots and starting up a "a modern while local-friendly restaurant," Wu wrote in an email. He missed the face to face interactions of working behind a sushi bar.

Kyosho is one of a few new Japanese restaurants that have come to Menlo Park. The two other additions include 32 Fahrenheit Japanese Bistro (where Quiznos used to be) and Octopus (where Akasaka used to be).

Kyosho opened to serve customers sushi and other authentic Japanese cuisine this week. Sherri B. posted on Yelp “The food we had was excellent - especially the lobster roll and The Bomb roll,” Giving Kyosho a 5 star rating. Another customer Shan S. calling Kyosho “A hidden gem.”
