A group of 12 Menlo Park Senior Center volunteers attended the 43rd Annual Recognition event by
Retired Seniors and Volunteers Program (RSVP) of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties Thursday, May 18, 2017. This year, eight seniors were chosen to receive the prestigious President's Volunteer Service Lifetime Achievement Award, one of whom, Hortensia Rosales, was from Menlo Park Senior Center. Since 2005, Mrs. Rosales has donated over 4,000 hours of her time to the Senior Center helping with Brown Bag Program, meals, classes, special events and front desk. In addition to public recognition in front of a few hundred peers, she received a signed personalized Certificate of Achievement and a note from the president of the United States, Barack Obama, as well as a President’s Volunteer Service Award Pin. The Menlo Park Senior Center was also recognized for over 20 years as a member of RSVP. The event was held in Foster City.
