On Friday, May 12, 2017, a public bid request was issued to hire a striping contractor for the Oak Grove, University, Crane Bicycle Improvement Project. The project is a one-year trial installation of a bicycle facility on segments of Oak Grove Avenue, University Drive and Crane Street. The City is looking to get the project started this summer to begin the one year trial period. The route connects key destinations in the City including schools, the downtown and residential neighborhoods.
The scope of work includes installing painted buffered bike lanes, flexible delineators, additional striping enhancements and removing existing pavement markings that conflict with the new plan. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at City hall and bids are due Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
Check out the
bid posting for more information on this effort . For more information about the project, the route and the improvements, see the
project webpage.
