The Week of the Young ChildTM is sponsored annually by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to celebrate early learning, young children, their teachers and their families.

NAEYC established the Week of the Young Child in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life. https://www.naeyc.org/woyc

Belle Haven Child Development Center (CDC) will be celebrating the “Week of the Young Child” April 24 -25. Each day is theme-based and filled with fun activities. Belle Haven CDC encourages families to join their children in the festivities. Themes include:
  • Ice Cream Social Day - Children create their own ice cream sundae with all the fixings and socialize with friends.
  • Carnival - Children dress up in their shades and summer attire. The carnival includes games, jumper, popcorn and plenty of prizes!
  • Pajama Day - Children come dressed in their favorite pajamas. The PJ Day will continue at 6:30 p.m., where children and families will come together at the Belle Haven library for a family story time and learn about the library
