Bell Haven Child Development Center will be hosting a parent workshop, Building your Child’s Self Esteem and Personal Power April 4, from 5-6:30 p.m. at 410 Ivy Drive, Menlo Park. The participants will review and discuss the stages of social and emotional development, including development of empathy and social skills. Learn specific ways to guide and support children to develop positive and healthy friendships with peers.
The workshop presenter is
Susan Stone-Belton, BSE Parent Coach and Child Development Specialist. Susan is a parenting coach, motivational speaker and certified special education teacher, Susan specializes in effective parent-child communication, behavior management, helping families navigate through divorce, remarriage and step parenting. Over the years, she has operated home-based preschools, run crisis hotlines for parents and teens and managed a domestic violence treatment program for batterers. She has presented dozens of parenting workshops at Parents Place, including but not limited to: “Tantrum Taming for Toddlers and Twos,” “Connecting with Your Child Every Day,” “Setting Limits – Raising Responsible Children through Choices and Consequences." She is the author of "Real Parents, Real Kids, Real Talk." Susan received her bachelor’s degree in education from Illinois State University
