The heritage
tree removal application for 39 heritage trees at 350 Sharon Park Drive has
been approved. In August 2016, staff
recommended the approval of the application to the Environmental
Quality Commission (EQC). The EQC
provided recommendations to the heritage tree
removal permit and related development to the Planning Commission. Upon
approval by the Planning Commission in September 2016, staff conducted several
meetings with the property owner, City attorney, and community members to
implement the EQC’s recommendations as conditions of approval for the heritage
tree removals.
Conditions of approval include the following:
·
Two replacement trees planted for each heritage
tree removed,
·
A minimum size of 24” box for the majority of
replacement trees,
·
Tree planting and irrigation enhancements in the
adjacent Sharon Road median island, and
·
A four-year maintenance agreement for non-heritage
trees (13”-14” diameter) on the property.
