Cal Water continues work on the Santa Cruz Avenue water main replacement project. During the last two weeks, Cal Water replaced the defective component used to reconnect the service line to the new mainline. Paving of the water line trench is scheduled to begin next week and last one week. Complicating this effort, rain is forecast to return to our area beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1. In order to ensure a quality paving job, it cannot be too cold or too wet, so the exact start date and duration of the paving operation is subject to change depending on the weather. Staff has been in continuous contact with our Santa Cruz Avenue sidewalk project contractor and they are ready to begin sidewalk construction once Cal Water completes its work.
