Menlo Park Senior Center hosted a quinceañera for the seniors Saturday, Dec. 10, complete with a festive lunch, dance music and cake! Many of the senior women as young girls never had a chance to hold a quinceañera, which is the celebration of a girl's fifteenth birthday, so this event provided them the opportunity to have one with all their friends in attendance. Over 75 seniors and their families participated in this gathering, which was also the first weekend program the senior center has hosted in many years. Additional weekend intergenerational programs are planned quarterly in 2017 to bring the community and seniors together under one roof.
