The San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority has released the Public Draft Feasibility Report on the SAFER Bay project Task Order 1 for the Cities of Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. SAFER stands for Strategy to Advance Flood Protection, Ecosystems and Recreation. The report evaluates options for protecting Menlo Park and East Palo Alto against the 100 year storm event as well as sea level rise through a series of floodwalls and levees. The project also incorporates options for the enhancement of Menlo Park’s shoreline habitat and recreational trails. The SFCJPA is seeking public comment on the report.
