Additional police data released via the City’s open data portal

Three additional 2015 data sets have been published including citations issued, pedestrian and bicycle contacts. The new datasets on the City's open data portal include date and location information as well as the disposition of each contact. The department looks forward to releasing more data sets in the future and encourages the public to make suggestions for more data sets.

In May 2016, the Police Department joined the White House’s Police Data Initiative. To date, 62 leading law enforcement agencies, technologists and researchers have committed to improving the relationship between citizens and police as part of President Obama’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing. The Police Department fulfilled its initial transparency commitment to this cause in releasing its first three data sets on June 1, 2016.
