Two existing commercial buildings at 1010-1026 Alma Street have been demolished to make way for a new three-story office building. The project received Planning Commission
approval in November 2015, and included the provision of public plazas along Alma Street. The next stage in the construction process includes excavation to construct the two-level underground garage, followed by construction of the aboveground building and site improvements. During construction, the sidewalk along Alma Street will be closed and on-street parking spaces fronting the site on Alma Street would be used for construction parking. Two heritage oak trees along Alma Street will be preserved and monitored throughout the construction process. More detailed information is available on the project page
on the City's website.
