On June 20, 2016, the City of Menlo Park will celebrate the installation of four level-two dual-port
ChargePoint electric vehicle chargers. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on the grass field next to the south side of the City Hall fountain from Noon-1 p.m.
Two new dual-port chargers are now located at both the Civic Center parking lot (between the City Hall/Administration Building and Arrillaga Family Gymnastics Center) and Parking Plaza 2 (Crane Street and Oak Grove Avenue).
Menlo Park is the only San Mateo County City to win grant funding for EV chargers as part of the
Bay Area Charge Ahead Project. The EV charger project is one of the city’s
Climate Action Plan strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 27 percent below 2005 levels by 2020. These four charging stations reduce approximately 50 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually, the equivalent of 5,626 gallons of gas consumed.
