On, Tuesday, April 19, 2016, 6-7:30 p.m., community members are invited to join the
Police Department at the
Belle Haven Neighborhood Service Center, 871 Hamilton Ave., for a community appreciation social. Police Department personnel are very thankful for the collaboration and partnerships that have developed over recent years with the Belle Haven community and are grateful that the community is thriving, and crime is down. This
community appreciation social is to recognize and congratulate the community on recently being honored with two statewide awards. Light refreshments will be served and the awards will be displayed.
Menlo Park was honored with two excellence in community policing awards: the
Helen Putnam Award in September 2015 by the League of California Cities and the
James Q. Wilson Award in March 2016 by the Regional Community Policing Institute - California. These awards recognize the efforts and reintegration of community policing within the Belle Haven community to address crime and violence concerns that plagued the area for years. These awards illustrate our partnership with residents and private entities committed to serving our community.
