Menlo Swim and Sport presented their 2015 annual report to the Parks & Recreation Commission in February. The report estimates more than 488,000 visits to the Burgess Pool facility and 16,000 visits to the Belle Haven Pool facility. The company experienced continued, steady growth of its core programming at the Burgess facility and maintained continued year-round operations at the Belle Haven facility. There was an increase in swim lessons and in open swim drop-in users in Belle Haven in addition to two added Aqua Fit classes designed for community members who attend the Menlo Park Senior Center. The Menlo Mavericks team completed the USA Swimming Club Recognition Level 1 program and added five new swimmers to its Far Western Championship Team, as well as 10 new athletes to its Junior Olympic Championship Team. Menlo Swim and Sport recently collaborated with Club Puck to offer USA Underwater Hockey at the Burgess Pool and for the third year in a row, they collaborated with the City and Threshold Racing to organize the Menlo Kids Triathlon. It was a successful year for both the Burgess and Belle Haven Pools. Their staff put forth great effort to improve the programs they offer to the community.
