Park maintenance is in full swing

Posted on February 27, 2016 at 10:48 am by Clay Curtin

February has been busy for park maintenance staff. Field preparations are underway for the beginning of the Little League season. This includes infield cleaning, cutting grass to game day heights and spring fertilization to keep fields green and growing. In addition to the fields, other projects are nearing completion. A new bench, provided as a memorial gift from the family of Bob Dressler, adds additional seating near the Sharon Park pond. In addition, new split rail fencing at Sharon Park will complete the pond’s existing perimeter fence. Stanford Hills Park also will also receive new split rail fencing, providing an aesthetically pleasing separation of the picnic area while preventing vehicular access to the park. Staff replaced the tunnel slide at Seminary Oaks Park and applied woodchips below the play equipment to absorb shock and prevent injury from falls. The restrooms at Bedwell Bayfront Park have reopened after a temporary closure to replace the water line, detail the interiors, install electric hand dryers and paint the exterior. The parks will be ready for residents and visitors to get outside and enjoy the nice weather.
