On Thursday, Jan. 7, the City released drafts of the three new proposed zoning districts for the M-2 Area as part of the next steps in the ConnectMenlo process. The three new zoning districts (O – Office, LS – Life Sciences and R-MU – Residential Mixed-Use) intend to implement the live/work/play environment desired for the future of the M-2 Area. Included in each of the proposed zoning districts are both development regulations that define features such as building size, height, and the number of parking spaces, as well as design standards to guide the look and feel of a building. The proposed zoning districts also include green and sustainable building provisions, and establish a process for community amenities.
The drafts of the proposed zoning regulations have been released in preparation of the upcoming ConnectMenlo focus group meeting Thursday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center. The intent of the focus group meeting is to receive public input on the draft zoning regulations. This is the first of several opportunities to provide feedback on the topic. The
General Plan Advisory Committee will hear the feedback from the focus group meeting at its meeting scheduled Thursday, Jan. 28. Guidance from the GPAC will help inform a study session on the proposed zoning with the Planning Commission in the coming months.
