On September 8, 2014, the Planning Commission reviewed a new four-unit residential project at 612 College Avenue. The property is located within the Specific Plan area, at the intersection of College Avenue and Alto Lane, replacing a partially demolished residence and a commercial warehouse. The proposal had initially been considered at the August 18th Planning Commission meeting, at which the Planning Commission endorsed the overall substance of the proposal (site plan, heights, etc.), but requested a few revisions and additional information. The revised proposal features a simplified roofline, larger windows on the Alto Lane frontage, neighbor privacy enhancements on the rear, and additional materials/landscaping details. At the September 8th meeting, the Planning Commission unanimously approved the proposal, which is the first completely new development project acted on under the El Camino Real/Downtown Specific Plan.
