City Hall is closed Wednesday, Dec. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 3, reopening Monday, Jan. 4. The Libraries, Arrillaga Family Recreation Center, Gymnasium and Gymnastics Center, the Menlo Children’s Center, the Menlo Park Senior Center, the Onetta Harris Community Center and the Police Department will be open and retain their typical schedules. In addition, public works and support staff are on-call if needed to respond to weather-related incidents or other emergencies. 

Closing offices during the holidays allows the City to save on operations, provides predictability for customers and allows employees time to use vacation leave, without significantly affecting demand for services. Historically, City Hall has very few visitors during the holidays and the majority of employees schedule vacation during the holidays. Staff members are required to use vacation time or other paid-leave, during any non-holiday/weekend closure days. Specific hours are available on the City’s website.
