Wet rainy weather didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the crowds at the Menlo Park Library when the Montclair Women's Big Band appeared for their 2nd annual concert. The 17 piece ensemble played a popular mix of classic big band music including Glenn Miller hits, Duke Ellington, Horace Silver and Frank Sinatra among others.
Music lovers filled the front of the library space and dancers had room in the back to demonstrate their skills. Free musical concerts are one of the ways that the library is participating in community building. The Menlo Park Library has become the venue for several musical events this year in response to user requests for more opportunities to participate in cultural events. Musical offerings and other programs will continue to evolve in response to community needs.
