The public is invited to the City Council's annual reorganization meeting Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The next Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will be selected and outgoing Mayor Catherine Carlton will be recognized. The brief meeting will be followed by a community reception.
The City Council is the city's governing body. In general municipal elections, its members are elected at-large to four-year overlapping terms. The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem each serve one-year terms and are selected annually by the City Council.
