First mixed-use project in the Specific Plan area receives approval

Posted on August 23, 2015 at 12:17 am by Clay Curtin

At its Aug. 17 meeting, the Planning Commission approved a new mixed-use project at 1283-1295 El Camino Real, across the street from the proposed Station 1300 project. Although other single-use projects have been approved, this is the first new mixed use project within the Specific Plan area. The project would replace two one-story commercial buildings with a three-story building housing 15 two- and three-bedroom rental units and approximately 2,000 square feet of commercial space. The project will be developed at the base level density and intensity outlined in the Specific Plan and will be LEED Silver certified. The Commission's action will be final unless appealed to the City Council, enabling the project sponsor to move forward with preparing for a building permit submittal.
