The City of Menlo Park officially swore in police officer Edward Mazon and reserve officer Daniel Rojas last week. Officer Mazon graduated the police academy at the end of June and Reserve Officer Daniel Rojas, having put himself through the police academy, graduated in August 2014. Both officers completed their two-week in-house orientation, which consisted of acclimating to the city, reviewing policy guidelines, receiving uniforms/equipment, and completing their initial firearms and arrest and control training/qualifications. The two will begin their field training program next week with their designated training officers. They will continue to learn and perform the duties and responsibilities of a peace officer alongside an experienced and well-trained police corporal.
