On July 24, the City will host an intermediate governmental accounting training at the Senior Center. Government finance professionals from throughout the Bay Area will be in attendance at this event, which is sponsored by the
California Society of Municipal Finance Officers, and targeted to individuals working in local governments and special districts that have expanding responsibilities for governmental accounting and financial reporting. This all-day training will include an overview of governmental financial statements, a review of the oversight agencies, grant accounting principles, the year-end close process, and an update on current events in the industry. The course instructor, Susan Mayer, is a retired city finance professional with over 25 years of public agency and government auditing experience.
