After nearly three years of preparation, the City recently received solar panels that will be installed on roofs at the Onetta Harris Center, Arrillaga Family Gymnasium, Arrillaga Family Gymnastics Center and the public works corporation yard. Additionally, a solar carport will be constructed in the parking lot immediately south of City Hall. Crews will seek to minimize the temporary impacts to public parking areas by having employees use alternate parking locations. This project is made possible by Menlo Park’s participation in a Regional Renewable Energy Procurement effort allowing the 19 participating public agencies to benefit from joint procurement and negotiation efforts to reduce the cost of solar power installation.
