Take action on National Voter Registration Day

Posted on September 27, 2021 at 12:09 pm by Lisa Atwood

On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, Menlo Park will join with thousands of other election officials across the country to celebrate National Voter Registration Day, a nonpartisan civic holiday that aims to help all eligible voters participate in our democracy. The national day of action will involve efforts to register voters and raise awareness of state-specific registration policies, deadlines and voting information.

Individuals can register to vote, check to see if you are already registered and make changes to your registration record. Being registered to vote is just the first step in getting vote ready! Making a plan to vote, knowing what is on the ballot is all part of what comes next to ensure everyone has their voice heard at the ballot box. View more voter resources and get involved!

If your company or business would like to participate and join this effort, you can sign up as an official partner and host a local registration drive—either on or offline–on National Voter Registration Day. Individuals interested in attending or volunteering at a voter registration event can search for nearby events on the National Voter Registration Day website.

National Voter Registration Day is held annually on the fourth Tuesday of September. Since 2012, nearly 4.5 million voters have registered on the holiday. Visit NationalVoterRegistrationDay.org for more information.
