The City of Menlo Park manages five adult sports programs: basketball, volleyball, tennis, softball, and badminton. Our adult softball league is played at Nealon Park and is run twice per year. The leagues begin in April and August. Adult basketball leagues are played at the Arrillaga Family Gymnasium and range from recreational to competitive. The current season includes former division one college basketball players participating in the league. The adult tennis program is run by one of the City’s longest running contractors, Jim Heebner. Jim holds about 5-6 adult tennis classes each quarter at Nealon Park and his classes are consistently maxed out. Our volleyball and badminton programs are run on a drop-in basis at the Arrillaga Family Gymnasium. All drop-in sessions cost participants $1 per hour to participate. In total, the adult sports programs serve over 2,500 participants per year.
