Our county is experiencing significant increases in COVID-19 cases, due primarily to the Delta variant of the virus. Emerging evidence indicates that the Delta variant is more transmissible than previous variants of the virus and that even fully vaccinated individuals can spread the virus to others. In alignment with the recommendation of federal and regional health officials, the City of Menlo Park requires everyone to wear face coverings indoors when visiting city facilities. The indoor public masking requirement became effective August 3, with the new health order issued by Bay Area health officers, including Dr. Scott Morrow of San Mateo County.
As case rates rise locally, health officers throughout the Bay Area have recommended everyone wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Learn more about the latest health order.
