Caltrain updates schedules and reduces monthly pass price

Posted on March 22, 2021 at 6:37 pm by Clay Curtin

Starting Monday, March 22, Caltrain adjusted its weekday and weekend timetables to support regional transit connections, part of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s (MTC) Blue Ribbon Task Force efforts. The task force was formed in May 2020 to help guide the future of the Bay Area’s public transportation network as the region adjusted to new conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, riders can purchase a monthly pass for 20 percent off now through September 2021. The discount aims to encourage people returning to work to take advantage of transit, while also providing some financial relief for those that have been riding regularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Caltrain’s schedule adjustments will maintain BART connections at the Millbrae Transit Center to coincide with BART’s new service changes and increase weekday service from 68 to 70 trains. As public health conditions continue to improve and ridership increases, Caltrain will continue to make service adjustments to meet changing needs.
