Seven professionals from the Community Services department represented Menlo Park at the
California Parks and Recreation Society annual conference in Sacramento. CPRS is the premier regional park & recreation conference in California, bringing together recreation and community service leaders from across the state. Each year this conference is an opportunity for attendees to attend top-notch education programs, engage with professional in the field, and explore the largest regional expo hall in the nation. Over 200 companies offering the newest marketplace trends were present at this year’s expo to network with recreation staff and help find solutions to the current challenges facing parks and recreation professionals. The conference included roughly 80 educational seminars including: Community Building through the Arts, Low Impact Development Designs that Reduce Park Costs, and Beyond Joint Use to Joint Purpose. This year’s “superhero” theme honors our recreation professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes and fight the good fight in providing community enrichment programs in the midst of many obstacles.
