Celebrate National Law Enforcement Day, January 9

Posted on January 4, 2021 at 8:01 pm by Clay Curtin

On January 9 each year, we celebrate national Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. This national day of recognition was founding in 2015 to highlight the support and appreciation the public holds for law enforcement officers. This day highlights the lengths police officers go to serve the public and make a difference while doing the job they love. It also generates awareness of the dangers police officers face every day on the job while protecting the communities in which they live and work.

While 2020 was a difficult year, throwing at us a global pandemic and some of the largest wildfires, local police officers showed that strength and transparency can bring our community together during difficult times. Menlo Park's officers and staff take pride in providing the highest level of service to the public, by embracing the mission of protecting life and property for our entire community while serving with integrity and professionalism. Our community policing philosophy is a combination of utilizing partnerships with the residents, public and private organizations, along with city resources to problem solve and strengthen public trust.

The men and women of Menlo Park's police department are proud to serve our diverse community. Each day officers and police staff strive to put their best foot forward at the highest levels and exceed the expectations of the community and everyone they come into contact. They chose this profession to serve, protect and to improve the community they serve.
