The Small Property Owner Assistance program established to assist residential property owners impacted by COVID-19 has reduced some application requirements and extended the application deadline to Wednesday, November 25, 2020. It is available in English, Spanish and Chinese.
The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors dedicated $2 million to establish a grant program for small residential rental property owners in the County who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible property owners in San Mateo County may apply for up to $7,500 in claimed losses and may receive direct cash grants up to $6,000 per unit for up to 10 units per applicant.
While income and rental price remain priorities for grant making decisions, the following requirements have been eliminated:
- Applicants are no longer subject to income caps
- Eligible properties no longer must be rented at or below fair market rates
The
San Mateo County Association of Realtors and the
California Apartment Association will provide assistance to small property owner applicants who need help during the application period. Once the application period begins, if you have questions on the application itself, please
email San Mateo County.
