Recreational and roadway capital projects completed recently

Posted on August 31, 2020 at 9:48 pm by Clay Curtin

The City recently completed two projects as part of the Capital Improvement Program.

The first project involved resurfacing five tennis courts at Nealon Park that had previously exhibited signs of structural damage. The scope of work included installing new asphalt, court striping and select accessories such as benches, nets and posts. The project finished construction in late July and all five courts have reopened to the public.

The second project, located on Oak Grove Avenue between Pine Street and Rebecca Lane, included new sidewalks, curb and gutters, and stormwater treatment facilities on both sides of Oak Grove Avenue. It also added rectangular rapid flashing beacons at the Oak Grove and Marcussen Drive intersection for enhanced street crossing public safety and provides an extended right-turn pocket at the Nativity School Driveway.
