Gymnasts from the local Menlo Park gymnastics program participated in the Level 3 Gymnastics State Championships November 17 in Redwood City. Nine girls from the Level 3 competitive team qualified to participate in the championship meet. Sophia Narbut placed 3rd all-around in her age division and placed third on bars with a score of 9.175. Other team members had an excellent competition, but unfortunately did not place on any events.

The Level 4 and 5 State Championships took place the following weekend in Visalia, CA. Two Level 5 participants and five Level 4 participants competed in this event, each placing. Level 5 member Sarah Nordlund placed fourth on bars with a score of 9.325, earning 4th all-around in her age division. Level 5 member Lady Lynn Hilaro placed 3rd on floor routine with a score of 9.525, earning 3rd all-around in her age division. Level 4 member Helen Nguyen placed 4th on floor with an impressive score of 9.475. 

Menlo Gymnastics team coaches Savina Krakowski and Dalonna Jackson did an excellent job of preparing the girls for the competitive season this year. It is a testament to their dedication and hard work that so many compulsory gymnasts made it to the State Championship meets.
