It’s usually the big shopping day after Thanksgiving that gets all the publicity, but we have to remember
Small Business Saturday on November 30, 2019!
Local businesses are the cornerstone of a strong community. Menlo Park supports Small Business Saturday, a national campaign to celebrate local entrepreneurs, showing residents of towns across the nation that you can find that special gift at the shop in downtown or drop in at the coffee shop for that morning caffeine boost or stop by the mom and pop convenience store and pick up milk on the way home from work or just sit down for a tasty dinner with the family at that little out of the way place!
To help support this initiative and make the term Small Business Saturday as popular as Black Friday, we’re asking you to join millions of Americans to Shop Small at your favorite local stores and help fuel the Menlo Park economy Saturday, November 30, 2019, as well as all year long.
This year marks the ninth Small Business Saturday, an annual celebration of America’s small business community. According to the 2018 Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey, total reported spending among U.S. consumers who said they shopped at independent retailers and restaurants on the day reached a record high of an estimated $17.8 billion
Today, there are over 30 million small businesses in the United States. About half of all American workers are either employed by a small business or own a small business. And two out of three new jobs are created by small business.
When we all shop small, we make a BIG difference in our community!
