The City is currently upgrading the software that processes building, planning, encroachment and heritage tree removal permits. In order to start the multiday data conversion phase, the City Hall front counter will not be able to accept, edit or issue any permits Thursday, November 21.

The counter will be open for water bill and business license payments, but customers are otherwise encouraged to reference the Building, Planning, Engineering and Heritage Tree webpages for information and forms, and/or visit the counter on another day for direct services.

In addition, please note that Building permit statuses and descriptions are always available online at the Search for a Permit page.

The new Accela permitting software will include capabilities for online applications, workflow consistency improvements, and mobile access for inspectors and other field staff, and is a top priority of the Information Technology Master Plan.
