The City just doubled the amount of electric vehicle charging stations at the Burgess Park parking lot between City Hall and the Arrillaga Family Gymnastics Center parking lot from four to eight. Three of the charging stations are reserved for the City’s recently purchased electric vehicle fleet with the remaining five available for public use. This complements the City’s other four downtown charging stations in
Parking Plaza 2 located at Oak Grove Avenue between Crane and Chestnut streets. Access to electric vehicle charging infrastructure is an important part of making electric vehicles a success.
Access to charging gives drivers more confidence to utilize electric vehicles and extends the functional daily range while reducing greenhouse gas emissions that help the City meet its
Climate Action Plan goals.
