In advance of the first City Council
district elections in November 2018, City staff have developed an interactive
lookup tool that allows residents to quickly confirm their Council district. Users can zoom to their area of interest or enter a specific address, similar to other web-based maps.
The City's website at
menlopark.org/districtelections also has information on the process that led to the creation of the city council districts. The City Clerk has posted information online at
menlopark.org/elections about the November 6, 2018, election and provides information and links to each district's candidates. Staff attended an educational conference hosted by
ESRI, the company whose GIS software is used by the city to track all of our public infrastructure. The conference provided insights into the GIS software we have implemented and was the inspiration for tools such as this, the water district look up tool and more coming soon.
