Senior Librarian 
The Senior Librarian is responsible for the management and supervision of the Library’s Adult Services division, the work of permanent staff, on-call staff, and volunteers. The Adult Services division includes direct service to the public at the reference desk, the development and management of the adult collection at the main library and the branch, literacy services provided through Project READ, and a robust series of programs and events for adults. The Senior Librarian will perform advanced professional librarian duties, and use creativity and analytical skills to not only oversee day to day operations, but also provide leadership toward continually improving department-wide services and processes.

Librarian l/ll  
The Menlo Park Library is hiring two librarians, one each in our Adult Services and Youth Services departments. The resulting eligibility list from this recruitment will be utilized to fill any future openings.

Librarians perform a variety of professional tasks including:
Assisting community members of all ages at our reference desks. Readers’ advisory tasks – recommending books, authors and genres based on patron reading interest. Collection development tasks such as reviewing and analyzing collection use to identify materials to be ordered, replaced or removed; recommending books, media, electronic resources and materials for purchase based on community needs.

Library Assistant II
Under general supervision, this position provides varied and complex tasks for library operations and programs, including circulation, collections, branch library, technical services, and program support; supervises library pages; and provides direct service and assistance to library patrons at both Main and Branch libraries.
