Are you interested in having a confident, healthy and successful child? Have you asked yourself how you can better support your child navigate their school years? Look no further than your local after school program.
Children who attend an after school program exhibit greater academic success, higher self-esteem and self-confidence. After school program participants also exhibit healthier lifestyles and engage in less risky behaviors than peers. These programs not only offer support to improve academic performance, but also provide a variety of engaging, fun, and structured extracurricular or co-curricular activities that promote youth development in a variety of real-world contexts.
During the school year
Menlo Children’s Center After School Program serves upward of 60 school-age children ranging from kindergarten through 5th grade. The after school program is designed to provide quality recreational programming for school age children after their school day has ended. While in the After school program the children participate in a range of activities including Homework Club, art, cooking, and science projects. Providing transportation from the four local
Menlo Park School District schools to the Burgess Campus helps the Menlo Children’s Center stand out as parents don’t have to worry about transportation to and from the program. Children are also escorted to extra-curricular classes including dance, gymnastics, soccer, karate and swimming on the Burgess Campus by our recreation leaders. This allows children to experience the wonderful enrichment activities provided by City of Menlo Park without the need for additional transportation. Registration for the 2018-19 school year is now open and spots are still available.
