One-on-one tutoring

Volunteer tutors work one-on-one with an adult English language learner to help them improve their reading, writing and speaking skills and achieve their goals. Pairs commit to one to two hours of tutoring a week for six months. Interested in becoming a volunteer or learner? Email us to schedule an appointment.

English classes

Improve your English reading, writing and speaking skills with our beginner classes. We meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Belle Haven Branch Library.

English Conversation Club

Develop your speaking skills by meeting other English language learners and working with our volunteer tutors. Learn about American culture, U.S. history and English vocabulary and phrases. We meet on Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Main Library.

Read Play Learn

English language learners are invited to a monthly storytime for the whole family. Learn ways to get your children ready to read and to express their creativity. We meet on the second Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to noon at the Belle Haven Branch Library.
