Community Zero Waste Plan

With the 2009 City Council-approved Climate Action Plan, the City of Menlo Park has taken several actions in recent years to promote environmental practices and policies.  The recent adoption of the Zero Waste Plan serves as a guidance document to significantly reduce waste reduction while reinforcing proper waste diversion practices.

By reducing landfilled materials to 3.1 pounds per person per day, Menlo Park will be able to achieve its goal of waste diversion to least 73 percent from landfill waste disposal by 2035.
