CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE
Business Development Program

Located within the City Manager's Department, the Business Development Division is committed to helping local businesses compete and thrive. Successful businesses in our community create a vibrant environment and generate retail sales tax revenue needed to support city services. The vision of the Business Development Division is to preserve and enhance Menlo Park's strong business climate to ensure the City is financially stable and partners with the community in its commitment to improve the quality of life.

Redevelopment Agency Management

The City's Community Development Agency for non-housing projects is now administered by the Business Development unit. The mission of the agency is to help remove physical blight in its designated project area. This project area is exclusively in the City's Industrial and R&D zoning district, but does not include all of this area.

Our City (Population: 30,648)

Situated on “The Peninsula”, Menlo Park is conveniently located between San Francisco and San Jose. The City of Menlo Park is home to a wide range of businesses including local community serving and export oriented businesses. Businesses include such familiar names as Flegel's Furniture, Kepler's Books, Draegers Market, Oracle, Tesla Motors, Office Max, SRI and the U.S. Geological Survey. To accommodate these and many other enterprises, business parks are located in both the east and west ends of the City near Interstate 280 and the Bayshore Freeway.
